The solitary figure often appears in my work, standing at the edge of an architectural form or occupying a seemingly precarious position. While these moments may suggest vulnerability or danger, I see them as places of profound stillness — an opportunity to look outward while considering what lies ahead.
My practice extends across sculpture, drawing and material experimentation, informed by architecture, the natural world and the passage of time. Working with concrete, steel, bronze and other materials, I explore the contrast between precise construction and the forces that resist our attempts to impose order.

Biography
Steven Pollock is a Canadian artist based in Vancouver, British Columbia, whose multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, concrete relief, drawing and sculptural furniture.
Largely self-taught, Pollock began his artistic career creating functional objects influenced by architecture and monumental infrastructure. His practice has since expanded into a diverse body of work, combining an unconventional approach to materials with an exploration of the relationship between humanity and its surroundings.
Pollock was named Western Living's Furniture Designer of the Year in 2016 and received the Carter Wosk Award in Applied Art & Design at the 2017 BC Creative Achievement Awards. His work has been featured in publications including Azure, Gray and The Globe and Mail.
